It's Over :( Just like that my experience of Spring Training 2017 is OVER :( Thanks to a few special people this season I was able to attend 8 Spring Training games with 5 of them being Red Sox games. The experience I had at those games will be something I will remember forever. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself this weekend when I have no baseball game to attend. It will feel weird, but I guess it will be the new normal. Well until next Spring Training begins!! This Spring training a few "firsts" occurred for me. I was able to take a picture with Brock Holt and have him sign a program for me. I was able to see Chris Sale pitch for the first time and was able to witness our very own CY Young winner Rick Porcello pitch as well. Watching those two guys pitch made me even more excited for the 2017 Red Sox baseball season. I was also able to meet a few of the umpires and walk through facilities where only players and staff are allowed. Throughout t...

Spring Training Blues

Spring Training Blues Living in Fort Myers during the end of February and the month of March leads to complaints from many. It is the midst of snowbird season and now add being the spring training home to not one,but two major league baseball teams. Yes, Fort Myers is the spring training home for both the Minnesota Twins and the Boston Red Sox. If you don't time your drive correctly you might as well be prepared to sit in deadstop traffic on Daniels Parkway for at least 20 minutes, maybe even more. In fact it involves getting creative and being prepared. I have calendars posted of both the Red Sox and the Twins games so I can plan my commute accordingly since I drive Daniels Parkway on a daily basis. Throughout the 2 baseball seasons I have now lived in Fort Myers I have taken many detours to avoid Spring training traffic whether it may be a drive on Colonial instead of Daniels, the side roads, or a scenic commute through the airport what needs to be done will be done. However.....

A Little About Me

A Little About Me..... Hey there fellow bloggers or should I say Boston Red Sox fans :) My name is Kaitlyn and this is my first blog ever!! In less than 2 months I will have my Masters degree in School Counseling. After 6 years of elementary school, 3 years of middle school, 4 years of high school, 4 years of undergrad, and 2 years of full time graduate school I couldn't be more excited to ALMOST  be qualified to have my dream career. Until that time comes I will continue to work full time without pay at my internship sites and attend my final 2 classes of graduate school. I also have 2 small obsessions... Can anyone guess what one of them might be??? Well, if you said the Boston Red Sox you are 100% correct!!! The other being the Florida State Seminoles, my undergrad alma mater. Go Noles --->----->> But, since baseball season is upon us this blog will be geared towards all things Red Sox.
